Sony A/V-R Cables
I was actually wanting the "D" shape plug to regular USB but this is a regular mini usb to regular usb. The A/V cable did have the "D" shaped plug and it did work to stream live A/V from a DCR SR47 to S video or AV, likely as analog, to run to a capture card to PC or use like a vcr.
The cable I was looking for, the "D" shape to USB, I later found that I already had but then found its only use on this camcorder is for remote control devices. I can't tell how durable it is yet but it seems like good quality, maybe surplus sony originals.

Works well and has all functions.
works great, and even though it doesn't mention, it does have caller ID functionality, and works completely with my answering program. For the caller ID to work I had to change from TAPI to Port and select the shown port. For some reason however, during power outage and probably initial power surge it kicked the modem out of device manager as if there was none but if you go to control panel > "phone and modem> modems tab> highlight modem name> click add, it came back with all the right settings and nothing else had to be changed. .
