excellent vacuum; works well, useful attachments

This item Electrolux EPIC 6500 (used) was well-priced, and compared to other vacuums I have tested, is an excellent value. Attachments work as they should and there is an accessory for every cleaning job you may want to do. Most of all, it feels much studier than any other vacuum comparably-priced you could buy today. It is an attractive unit, and all accessories fit in the top part of the machine--good forethought and planning by designers. One accessory I am fond of is the "dust brush," which I find helpful around books on bookshelves (I have tons of books). There is a "reminder" light that remains on when the unit is left plugged in and the vacuum cleaner is equipped with a retractible cord. The engine is strong, but doesn't suck the color right off the rug!! I feel that I will have this vacuum around a long time. After I "retire" it from my home, if that day comes, I feel it will still be a great item for our summer condo, or to leave permanently for use in our finished basement.
