Low volume for stated wattage
0 of 6 found this helpful Thought I would upgrade to a Bluetooth radio from my old kenwood 22RMS x4. The Sony doesn't put out as much volume as my kenwood with half the stated 40RMS x4 wattage. I initially ran a 14 gauge power wire and thought that was the problem. Pulled the old wire out and ran 10 gauge. Both were direct to the battery. The only thing I can think off now is it might need lower Omn speakers but my old radio just kicked this ones behind. If I had to do it over again I would have gone with a regular stereo and added a small amp. Don't buy this stereo for extra volume. The sound quality is pretty good because of the adjustable EQ. To get the same volume as by old radio I will have to by an amp. Not to pleased with this stereo.
