Exact Match
1 of 1 found this helpful It's been working flawlessly since I installed it in the XPS 8900. It was an exact match for the failed motherboard.

Surprise, surprise
I saw a review of this pickup on the 'tubes. For the price it couldn't hurt to try one. I used it on my fiddle, didn't even tell the band I'd switched pickups. The surprise? They all thought my fiddle was clearer with more "real" fiddle sound. Ha!! And to be honest, I thought so, too. This rather larger, inexpensive, odd looking pickup with the attached cord actually is pretty good. Not that there weren't some issues.
First, mine didn't want to stay on. Must have embedded some dirt or something on the little cup. Even cleaning it the piezo would fall off once the instrument started vibrating. I did have to use some putty to make it stay on - Loctite Mounting putty, works perfectly. Secondly, It's very sensitive to position. Which could be a con or pro, depending on your own take. The third thing, the cord, altho' very long is a bit of a pain. I know why it's there, and I'm sure others will appreciate the attached cord. But that wasn't going to work for me.
I ended up getting a carpenter jack and wiring the pickup into that. That way I can use the same cable that goes to the mando, banjo or guitar. And, it cuts down on the long cable (cord?) hanging off the instrument. After that one small mod, I'm completely happy with the little PG-800 pickup. And quite surprised at how it sounds.
