FORD OEM 93-11 Ranger Front Door-Run Channel Left 8L5Z1021597A

OEM product. Exactly like old worn part; good for another 10 years!

Bought a 2001 Ranger with 200k miles on it. Driving home I heard wind noise from the driver-side window. Got out and was able to push on it and reduce the noise but still there. Any time I would row the window down and put it back up I would hear a large amount of wind noise. It was obvious where the rubber had shrunken and was starting to pull away from the door. This part has solved my issue long term. It is exactly like the part I removed but fresh and new. Replacement was easy. The inner door panel will need to come off (three screws and lift up). You will need to take out the door speaker to get to the one screw that holds the channel in place. Take off the other door molding around the window for better access. Might even remove the three nuts holding the side mirror on for even more access. Other than that it is just fiddling with it until it on. Took me 30 mins or so.

Sadly, didn't work for me.

While the reviews are overwhelmingly positive, it is not a cure all. Apparently there are some flooring joists/subfloors (like mine) where the issues go deeper. I have seen the videos and I know it works for a lot of people; it just made no difference for me. The instructions do say that the sooner you use the product once noises start to happen the better. Our floors have been squeaking and creaking for years. This kit did nothing. I put all the screws in in two locations in our master bedroom and there was no difference.
