Comfortable, even sound stage, and great price!
2 of 2 found this helpful For the price, these headphones can't be beat. I was able to snag them for about the same price as they are selling used - except mine were completely new! Build quality is typical Sony - so built like a tank (in my experience). I love the design, especially the retro Sony Professional logo on the side - keep in mind these came out in the 90's.
The headphones have a nice even sound profile, perfect for listening or audio editing. They sound great no matter what amp, I tried them on everything from an iPod Classic to a dedicated desktop amp. I swapped out the ear pads that I found sealed a little better than the stock ones - but everyone's ears are different, and the stock ones work great already. There's a nice amount of bass, and it doesn't drown out everything else. I would recommend using this in a semi - quiet space, as they do let some background noise through - but most of it can be drowned out if you turn up the volume.
I have little to no fatigue wearing them, they're over ear so I didn't get any ear pain like I do with on-ear headphones or earbuds. I could barely notice they were there after a while, which is a good sign with any headphone.
Overall, I would highly recommend. At this price point, nothing that I've tried really competes - especially for audio work / mixing. Thanks for another great product, Sony!
