EOS 60D after a month

Bought my 60D from Photodirect and had it within 2 days. At the price they charged very little problem deciding to buy this rather than the 550D. This is an excellent camera and it's great to have a rear control dial again after years with a 350D. That swivel screen is good for more than just video, for over the head shots or close to ground pictures. Folded in it also protects the screen better than any plastic film ever could. The camera may be plastic, but it's a lot lighter than a 7D. The 7D may have micro focus adjust and shoot more frames per second, but for me that's about it and I think the screen and much lower price more than makes up for that. If I wanted to upgrade this camera it would have to a 5D, well outside my price range. Don't gamble with an offshore seller such as those from Hong Kong. The price Photodirect charged may be a bit higher, but you won't have to pay duty if the package is opened. It can also use a Canon flash off camera, making for excellent pictures at this, gloomy time of year. I am really pleased with my purchase.

Ometa Pure 20L dehumidifier, good for medium sized spaces.

This dehumidifier does what it needs to do without fuss. Although heavy, it comes with castors, so can be easily moved. On low setting it runs very quietly. I have not needed to run it on the "sleep" setting, so can't comment on this. Use it to remove the smell of damp or mould in a back room and it does this well. I have not been able to extract anywhere near 20L of moisture a day, but I suspect that's because it isn't there to be extracted in the first place. This means I only need to empty the large tank every 3 to 5 days. Only issue with this is the tank, which is awkward to clean out, but I don't think this needs to done that often. There is no problem with emptying it however. At the moment Lidl are selling a very similar unit for £20 less, but note that these offers are usually only available for a few days at the most.

Excellent colour laser printer for home use

This printer is easy to set up. Bought a wireless adaptor from eBay which was also easy to add. If you use ethernet connection this is not really needed. Takes a will to run all its checks before it's ready to print, and then it is really fast. Duplex unit is versatile and quick. Only concern is with toner prices in future, but is came with starter cartridges installed, so will be OK for a while. Web-based control is comprehensive and the remote print app for use with mobiles also was easy to set up and works well (on Android).
