THESE ARE NOT PLUG N PLAY
2 of 2 found this helpful Let me just say, they look amazing. The stock headlights with the giant halogen bulb surrounded by that terrible looking tinfoil is just awful, so these with the led main lights and rings, with a black background instead of the stupid foil looks so much better. I must say however, that I wish I had a bunch more information before I began not only the install, but the purchase itself. THE BIGGEST THING TO KNOW, IS THAT THESE ARE NOT “PLUG AND PLAY”. The led rings come with 6 wires each assembly, and I do not know anything about rewiring the entire electrical anything in my car. I installed the units yesterday, and still am not sure what I’m going to do to get the led’s working. It’s probably going to be something I need to bring it into a shop for, which A. Is an added an unforeseen cost to this project, which will not surprise me if it ends up doubling the price of the whole thing, and B, is disappointing because it was the only way thing in this entire install that my very very limited mechanical experience couldn’t solve. Also, the turn signal indicator closest to the grille does not come with new bulbs. This is fine, because replacements were like 19$ and I didn’t realize how much the old ones had faded. However, the little tiny turn bulbs all the way on the opposite side of the assembly as the grille, HAVE REPLACEMENTS THAT COME IN THIS PACKAGE. These little guys are a pain to swap out without breaking the release that gets them out of the assembly. I did this with the bulbs from the oem assembly, put them into the new, and fully secured it back to the chassis. It wasn’t until I pulled out the second headlight from the box, that I found the two little bulbs taped to it. Normally I would have just gotten lazy and kept the replacements for when the old ones go out, but the stock ones are not tinted and housed in orange plastic of the assembly, but the replacements are orange bulbs inside a clear plastic assembly.
So, to summarize: they look absolutely stunning and totally better the look of the car, but it lost its diy factor the second it introduced random wires that you will have to get someone who know what they are doing to make the coolest part of the unit work.
I might update this if I figure out how expensive and worth it it is to fix said wiring issue. But for now, 3 stars because they look sweet but with how expensive they are, you would figure they would be more accessible.
