HANDMADE WEARABLE ART!
I upcycle high-end to luxury goods through the medium of tie dye! I have a fascination with luxury men's brands, so I really enjoy dyeing dress/casual shirts with funky patterns and embroidery. I love how the patterns and colors of the original shirt work to harmonize and ground the wild and funky colors of tie dye. It's interesting how the different weaves and textures of the shirts [although usually 100% cotton] will uptake, diffuse, and react to the dye differently, and I really love when some of the original shirt shows through! The men's luxury items generally retail for at least $200 new, although some can start at $1000 or more! My brand of choice to dye is Robert Graham because the stuff is so crazy to begin with that adding tie dye just puts it over-the-top! I mainly list luxury items, although I'll list an Old Navy dress in a heartbeat if it's cool! Pricing is based on my original item cost, process involved, and end results. Thanks a bunch!!
