good older 5 channel Receiver/Amp with lots of features
I have an older sound system, including a phono, tape deck and remote stereo speakers, an IPod and record out plug for phono to digital recording. This receiver/amp works fine for my older system. You do need to experiment a bit with the inputs for the IPod, but after I figured it out, everything works fine. I like the dedicated controls for bass and treble adjustments. I had a Sony stereo amp that had a noticeable AC hum on the bass sub-woofer channel. I tried several solutions no avail but this amp has no such hum. The bass and treble adjustments are a little different, but overall this is a good amp. Lots of presets for AM/FM. Of course, it seems to do all the stuff that one would require from a newer 5 channel box including all the Dolby stuff. All in all, I am very happy with the amp. I use it only in the traditional 2 speaker stereo configuration.
