Casio EFA-119 Edifice Watch, Analog/Digital, Thermometer, Black Dial, Alarm

Potential, but no.
I read the instructions online before I bought it and liked the features and it's thinner and less bulky than similar watches but I found the digital display to be dark and difficult to read in anything but direct sunlight. Yes, it has an illuminated display but it's not very bright and is only helpful at night or in a very dark room. Maybe this won't be a problem for you but for me it was a deal breaker. A watch that can not be read in any condition except direct sunlight or a very dark room is unusable to me.

Almost a Tivo, for free.
Well, no subscription anyway. I first bought a similar one by Polaroid. It was a piece of junk. The software was so bad that it did not work when it was new. This one is different. No glitches at all. Highly recommended. Don't know how I lived without one.

Yes, it looks like any other disposable DVD player but let me tell you why you want this one. It has a memory that will remember where you were on the disc even after the power has shut down. If you pull out disc A. put in disc B, watch it for a while an put disc A back in days later it will remember where you were. Put disc B back in and you're right where you left off. One down side: my universal remote has no codes for Koss and code search didn't work.
