I work just like any other overhang filter, and there's no sterilizer to it. It does great job of cleaning the tank.

good for border on cake

thou it little small it right size make boarder or corner design or add some smaller roses around bigger center piece on 9 inch square cake. If you use small round cake it right size for center piece.
