Compact carbon fiber tripod and head at a great price
I bought this tripod to use as the foundation for a portable easel for painting. It's quite short (I knew that going in), but for my application the height is just about perfect and its shortness makes it very compact and light to carry - both assets. I have two other tripods for photography (a Manfrotto 055 aluminum and a Manfrotto 055CX4 carbon fiber). I would have been disappointed if I had bought this tripod for that use, but the Rocketfish was the perfect blend of economy, good build, and compact size for my application. I ditched the non-standard clamp and plate immediately, substituting an Arca-Swiss compatible clamp/plate combo (also bought on Ebay), but kept the head itself. I can now use this tripod with my camera in a pinch, although I hope it never comes to that.
Overall, the build quality is very good and the price is unbeatable. The quality is nothing like that of the Manfrottos I own, but the price was a small fraction of those. I bought my Rocketfish as an open-box item. It had a minor issue with one of the leg clamps that I was able to fix easily. It comes with a nice padded case too.

Great - fast and hot - but not perfect
This teakettle is marketed under several brands. I have a Sunbeam that is virtually identical. I bought the Rival unit because the Sunbeam developed a crack in the plastic bottom, causing it to leak. I'm sure it was due to the extreme heat/cool cycles it's subjected to. Both this and the Sunbeam are rated at 1000 watts. I tested the Sunbeam and found that it really draws about 800 watts, set on high. I have a 650 watt Presto teakettle (#02703) I bought to use in the same RV boondocking applications. If I tested the actual draw on that, I don't remember what it was. The Rival/Sunbeam is much faster - like two-three times as fast. Since the actual draw is significantly lower than the rating, and the time it takes to boil water is so much faster, I concluded that it was probably more economical to use the Rival/Sunbeam than the 650 watt Presto. All in all, I like the Rival/Sunbeam well enough that when the first developed a leak, I bought the second, rather than switching to a different teakettle. FYI, we only use this for boiling water - not for soups, etc. It's tempting to try that, but I think it would permanently discolor the kettle, and probably flavor the water from then on.

Makes a great camera even better
This cage makes my M6 Mk II much more comfortable to hold, especially with an EF zoom lens mounted. It also solves a couple of issues that are inherent to the camera design: It provides an alternative to the hot shoe, either to allow for both the EVF and a flash or other accessory, or to move a flash or external mic out of the way of the flip-up LCD screen. It also provides a tripod mount that won't interfere with the battery/SD card door. The cage is thoughtfully designed and well constructed. Unless you need to keep your M6II as compact and lightweight as possible, this is an accessory that will be welcome to just about any user of a compatible camera.
