Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Primer
I am writing this review for my wife, who buys this stuff and loves it. When she is close to running out, she logs onto ebay and searches for more. Various dealers offer the product and usually at considerable discount compared to retail sources. She is always pleased at the price and often buys 2 or more.

Seven Souls by Material--Distinctions
This 1997 album is NOT a re-release of the original 1990 classic "Seven Souls"--it is a completely DIFFERENT album that has substitute tracks, re-mixes of substitute tracks and a different play lineup. THIS REMAKE SUCKS! THE ORIGINAL IS AN ALL TIME CLASSIC! Look on Ebay for the original Jan-1990 release with different cover art than this and check with the seller to make sure (see my review of the original 1990 release).

The Original "Seven Souls" by Material--DISTINCTIONS
Since it's been nearly 20 years since the original release of this recording, most people are not familiar with it. This is one of my favorite albums. It contains several great tracks with William Burroughs' craggy old voice reading excerpts of his surrealist novel "The Western Lands" over the compelling fusion rock churned out by Material. This CD is the original recording, which is what I was searching for. It is FAR SUPERIOR to the currently available so-called "re-release" which uses substitute tracks, re-mixes of substitute tracks, changes the play lineup and bears little resemblance to the original cult classic "Seven Souls" (as an aside to Bill Lasarow: if it ain't broke, don't fix it, stupid!). It is difficult to tell online which is which, as the descriptions have been confused and mostly, the remake is described regardless of which is being sold (Ebay does this because they have a standard script that pops up when the title is listed). Apparently the only way to be sure you are getting the original is to be familiar with the original album art which is a predominately red collage of photos with a black square near the center with a yellow Sun design in the square, although this is not foolproof--I originally ordered from Wherehouse through Amazon, and though they showed the original art online, what I received was the re-release with different art. Upon a first listen I was VERY disappointed and returned it for a refund. The other indication of the original is a release date of Jan-1990. Before buying this CD from an Ebay seller, I contacted him to be assured of the album art and the release date. Even the seller was unfamiliar with the album or any associated discrepancy. Anyone interested in this album should be very careful (and apparently only old stock remains of the original--so hurry!). Bottom line is: Old One--an all time great classic. New One--Sucks.
