i903 headphones
The Ebay purchase flow was just fine.
The headphones work well, but there are a few things to consider if you are looking for Bluetooth sound damping headsets.
The i903 transmitter dongle is limited in range. Sometimes when you rest your arms on the top of your head while reclining in your lazy boy, the sound breaks up even when the transmitter is only 2 feet away.
The sound also breaks up when the Bluetooth side of the headphones are on the opposite side of your head as the transmitter is, even when it is just 2 feet away.
If you keep the Bluetooth side of the headset pointed towards the transmitter (your head not in the way of line of site) the sound is good out to about 15 feet. So using this set to listen to music on your PC while vacuuming the house is out of the question. In this case, link it to your crackberry in your pocket.
I bought a Bluetooth USB fob from Staples (Targus USB Bluetooth adaptor) and the headset has solid sound 30 feet away, even through walls. So the limitation is in the iLuv transmitter, not the head phones.
The headphones themselves are very good. They are easy on my ears and work quite well on my cell phone and my laptop as a headset for making calls, listening to music, and watching movies. The noise damping is good, but one must consider that sound can also come into your ears from behind them. The head set noise damping would be better it they were an over-ear set instead of an on-ear set, but I knew that before I bought them.
Because of the transmitter limitation, I only give it a "good" rating. If the i903 transmitter dongle was as good as the Targus USB unit, I would rate the i903 as excellent.
If I knew this when I bought them, I would have bought the version without the transmitter dongle and then got the Targus adaptor.
In any case, it is still a good headset that I am happy with.
