A real gem!
4 of 4 found this helpful Good build quality, great features, excellent fm reception, good mw reception for such a tiny radio, sw reception in conjunction with variable bandwidth filter is surprising with such a short whip. Very crisp audio for older guys like me who have lost a lot of our high freq. audio resolution, hundreds of memories. Excellent fm stereo audio with a good pair of earphones or earbuds. Same for strong am signals. If you don't need ssb consider this little beauty. Spend time with the manual and learn how to use this radio properly! All electronics with chip circuits can lock up due to static electricity and it doesn't take much! Remove one of the batteries for two minutes and then put it back in.That will reset it. Even my Sony 2010 has done this. About me: Age 69, have been involved with radios starting at age 7 as a swl and started building crystal and regen radios at 9. Did military comms for the U.S. Army and have been an amateur radio operator going on 34 years. No radio is perfect but for 40 some bucks this is as close as you can get considering it has dsp and a very effective variable bandwidth feature. Spend time with it and you might end up loving yours as I do mine! :-)

Great value!
For the price I don't believe any other brand can equal this Fender harp! I was a pro musician for many years as a reed player and bassist and played in two U.S. Navy bands. I am an amateur harmonica player and find chromatic harps to be easier for me. Some months ago I wanted to get into diatonic harps and have been working on blues in second position but first position as well. On a c harp I play some things in F, A minor plus 1st and 2nd positions of course. This harp really surprised me as the tuning is right on and it looks pretty too. It has a crisp tone and the bends for blues are easy. I may get more of this model in other keys as well. Just got a Paddy Richter harp too and what fun! At this point I have found no negatives at all. My three Hohner harps have a rounder tone but this nice little harp bends easier!

A gem and a true analog radio which has some advantages.
1 of 1 found this helpful Reception on fm is very good and the AM performance is decent with a low noise floor which helps with weak signals. Wide dials and nice looks. The dial calibration for an old fashioned analog dial is acceptable. The reviewer who criticized the calibration is dead wrong. This feature is roughly the same no matter which analog radio you buy. He should buy a digital receiver with digital readout if he wants perfect dial accuracy. Some dsp radios feature an analog looking dial but for long distance am in a pocket radio I much prefer an analog radio. I like the very clean and crisp audio as I am 70 and have high frequency hearing loss.No radio is perfect so be realistic when considering radios in this price range. Right now I am listening to Cleveland as clear as a bell and I live in northern NH surrounded by mountains and hills. I love it and highly recommend this little beauty!
