This is a Chinese copy of the origninal VM22-133 Mikuni carburetor
1 of 1 found this helpful Although it is a remake ($26) of the original VM22-133 Mikuni Carburetor ($68), it has many of the physical characteristics of an original Mikuni Carburetor.
The first thing you will notice is the design of the float bowl. The original VM22-133 Mikuni Carburetor has a large vertical drain plug in the bottom of the float bowl. The Chinese remake has a small horizontal drain plug which can get lead to spilled gas when draining the float bowl. The original Mikuni Carburetor has a "Vertical Cupped drain plug design" which catches all the sediment in the drain plug which means most all the foreign matter is removed when you drain the bowl.
The main metering needle on the Chinese remake slide is very loose and wobbles around when you have the slide out for adjustments. This makes it a challenge getting the slide/needle assembly back in the Carburetor. Being loose, it makes me wonder if the air/fuel ratio is consistent going from 1/4 throttle to 3/4 throttle. Also the threads on the cap to remove the slide are "very loose fitted" which makes the risk of "cross-threading" this cap very high.
So over all, you are getting what you pay for. If you want a precision metering Carburetor with endless possibilities to adjust air/fuel ratios and have precision tuning capabilities, the original Mikuni VM22-133 Carburetor is the way to go. It's worth spending the extra money.
