Extended VGA / SVGA wired connection with Cat 5 cable
The Muxlab VGA baluns allow long wired connections, for example between a computer and a video projector, using shielded Cat 5 cable (terminated in the standard RJ45 male connector at both ends).
Depending on the desired resolution, 200 to 450 foot runs are possible (eg., 200' at 1280 x 1024 pixels, and 450' at 640 x 480 pixels). Muxlab part number 500010 must be used at the computer end of the line. At the projector end of the line, you must use either part number 500011 or 500014. (The difference between the receiving end baluns is the VGA connector arrangement.)
These work very well in my application, which uses a 100' extension cable between computer and projector, in a church auditorium.
DCF-660W WiFi adapter works with older PDA devices
This WiFi adapter fits devices with a Type I or Type II CF card slot (or PCMCIA to CF card adapter). It was designed for use with some of the older PDA devices. I have tested it with the HP Jornada 720 (Windows CE 3.0). The drivers supplied (on a CD which came with the adapter) did not work on my device (even though the package said it was compatible). However, compatible drivers are available online (try searching for Prism drivers on the hpcfactor forums (or) for Prism drivers and hpcmonex izemize). Be aware that this device, (and most PDAs for which it was designed) have limited internet connectivity. It is capable of Open connections or WEP secured connections, but Not WPA security. However, if security is not a great concern, it can provide reliable internet access to many hotspots, or to a home network with WEP security enabled.
