John Carpenter at his Best!
Carpenter introduced Snake Pliskin, one of his most memorable characters in this violent dark film.
His trademark bizarre characters - fantastic set design & music score are at their best in this original much copied film.
Kurt Russell made his mark as Snake Pliskin - a futuristic (yet retro) gun fighting ex-soldier
Carpenters usual cast of supporting actors are terrific in this bleak violent prison escape movie. The difference is that New York City is the prison & to gain his freedom ,Snake must rescue the US president from violent psycho’s holding him hostage.
Exciting & violent action sequences in a nightmarish NYC make this a memorable thrill ride. The has aged very well & looks amazing on bluray.
Made after his success with Halloween & just before he knocked everyone’s socks off with The Thing, Carpenter is in his element.
Once seen never forgotten.

Great comedy from the 1980’s which is still a lot of fun to watch.
The 80’s & 90’s made some of the best movies in the most popular genres of movie making. Big name stars & directors coupled with the biggest popular soundtracks & top notch scripts.
Kim Basinger is a gorgeous sexy alien & Dan Ackroyd is an out of his depth widowed father who falls hard for the blonde bombshell. Funny & a pleasure to watch.
Hasn’t aged because “the funny” of the times is Stil funny today.

Little known film noir gem wonderfully transferred to DVD.Great to see it again after many years .
Very good & most unusual film noir.
Acting script story cinematography & music score all excellent.
