You get what you pay for
1 of 2 found this helpful I sure thought that this little puppy would be much better than my old round fryers, but the heat retention is not real good due to the thin pans that hold the oil. I added more oil than needed to help, but not much help there. I sure thought that with the 2500 watt element would have real quick recovery, but not much better than my old Presto units.
For the price I am not too disappointed with the fryer, I just wanted something than would maintain a good steady temperature for good quality frying. You have to overshoot your desired temperature to keep it in frying temperature when you first put the basket in the oil, then once recovered set to the temperature you want.

Could be a little more meat in the penetration metal
The metal casing around the fan blades that make up the wall penetration should be of a heavier gauge. I cut a good straight opening as described in the installation instructions, but had to make several adjustments... a little ping here and a bump there and actually ended up bending the fan mount to keep the fan blades from rubbing the metal casing. This would not have been necessary if the casing were a little bit stronger / less flexible so that it would hold true circular intent of design when assembled.
