Valuable history of a war long ago
Good reprint copy of a difficult to find book. Bought to research Civil War prisoner history of my great grandfather.

A lure to catch fishermen.
The lure is supposed to work its tail when it is pulled across the surface of the water. There is a short line at the front that, when pulled, retracts into a mechanism that makes the tail flutter from side to side. It works when the lure is in the box or held in the hand and the string is pulled. When pulled through the water at any speed with a rod and reel, there is not enough water resistance from the front of the lure allow the string to pull the line out of the lure ergo, no tail flutter. The motion is a total failure. It is sad because the lure is well made and finished. It is really of no more use than a standard one piece surface lure at a much greater cost. This is a great idea that has to be reworked. I bought two. Big mistake.
