It's cord--it works--doesn't crackle--good stuff.
It's a cheap XLR to 1/4"--I needed one, and I didn't want to spend a whole lot on it. It works perfectly well for what I need it for. It's not super-heavy-duty, but I also didn't expect it to be--it's also
not bottom of the barrel embarrassingly flimsy either.
Would I take this on the road playing 4 gigs a week, and expect it to hold up? Nope, but if you need something for occasional usage, and when you're done with it, you roll it up and hang on the wall, and don't leave it laying around on the floor getting walked over and tripped on, then it will hold up for good long while, and if it ever gets a short(which it eventually will--they all do eventually), I've got a soldering iron. It is what it is, a mid-level cord that will get the job done. It doesn't crackle, it's got solid solders, and it's got a fairly heavy cord on it.

Decent budget bass head, not the best, but definitely a solid bargain and 100% usable.
Good and loud, pushes a 400 watt Carvin cabinet nicely, tone is a bit on the muddy side out of the box and takes some serious dialing in to find anything decent--but it is dialable. The "Ultrabass" effect is a bit over the top, something of an octave and a chorus combined. I'm sure I can find a use for it, but it's not something I'd go out of my way to get, but if you looking for a powerful head on a budget, then this will definitely fit the bill and at about about half the price of anything in its weight class.
