A very strong compact and well protected neodymium magnet. By removing the ring it could be slipped into a rod and used for other tasks. Because of

the nylon jaws suffer as much as the wire doesn't!
Supply with jaw extras
Need a much stronger tool for thickish sterling silver.
small semicicrcular slots in each half of the jaws for better grip on circular cross section wires.
Perhaps a set of extra nylon jaws would be useful, at a cost of course
