The Whole Giant History in a Bomb Shell
A J P Taylor is one of the best historians. Very clear, dynamic writing that flows—unlike the stilted "scholarly" style of most historians. He tells the human tale rather than a collection of dates (tho' he gives those too.). He was known as a contrarian. 'Troublemaker' they called him, the wooden academics. Although he was an academic too, at Oxford and elsewhere. What stands out are his opinions, exposing the establishment. A scathing critique of the politicians and generals, and their hidden agendas and career advancing. Again, a very readable, compelling and painful book. The collection of photos is also excellent and provides a quick capturing of these gargantuan events, …an adequate survey in miniature of the hundreds of thousands photos of the War. It is Five-Star history. Ranks with Barbara Tuchman's "Guns of August".

Categories above w/ yes no answers… not 5 star choices good to bad like feedback. All categories mediocre. Flimsy plastic, can not apply elbow grease. Worked okay on a barely scratched disc.… Have not tried it on a severely scratched disc (from the public library). … I suspect it will not be too effective—but haven’t tried it yet, to be fair. Have had good results with Disc Genie which requires a li’l more money and effort… but it works, usually.
