WHISTLER XTR-130 Radar/Laser Detector
Jul 26, 2017
Pretty impressed...
1 of 1 found this helpful I had not used a radar detector for years. Recently, I drug out one of my old ones and hooked it up. It was "falsing" constantly, probably due to the proliferation of cell phones and other electronics nowadays. The Whistler was very inexpensive and frankly, I doubted it would be worth messing with. I got a surprise. On my first trip with it from Wichita to Garden City and back, it gave very few false signals and twice found troopers I would have missed. I drive for the American Red Cross and I don't speed that much, but I still like to know where the "boys" are working or when they're coming at me. It does a nice job, especially considering the cost.
The buzzer is not loud or intrusive and does have a volume control. If you were intending to use this unit on a motorcycle, it would not be loud enough to be heard over all the other ambient noise.
The bracket is simple, with two suction cups to affix to the windshield glass and the metal bracket can be bent slightly to adjust for windshield angle.
