The Best Of Both Worlds!
6 of 6 found this helpful I drive my 2002, yellow, Deluxe model, T-Bird 100 miles a day. I can have the fun of driving a classic car with all the attention...but modern performance and reliability of a new car. Hence "The best of both worlds". Classic cars are fun to own... but suck to drive at times. This is the answer to that situtation. The car is a dream to drive! Just enough power and I get 23mpg with it. The only cons I have with this car is you CAN'T carry anything in it! The trunk barely holds my Fender Twin Reverb amp which is about the size of a large suitcase. My biggest gripe would be the heater/defroster and AC in the car. It's average. I constantly have to adjust it. I had to replace both temp. control mods in the car in 3 years. Of course having to store the hardtop in the winter is a pain too. But, if you are looking for a car that is a classic and want to drive the hell out of it and hand it down to your grandchildren....THIS IS IT!
Just remember...if you buy a new Mustang...it will be an OLD Mustang in a few years and tens of thousands of people will have the same car. If you own this style T-Bird....the body style is timeless! Everyone 50 years from now will remember Princess Diane as a beauitful Princess because she died young and all the photos of her are when she WAS young. Its the same with this T-Bird. This is the only body style of this car. Just like the Prowler...its a classic that will never age.
