Good book on experimental particle physics. Quite readable.
The book is thirty years old (1991) . It is quite readable. The focus of the book is the experimental side of particle physics. Besides the Higgs boson, there have not been many new experimental results in particle physics in the past thirty years, so not much has changed. It describes the search to find dark matter, and verify supersymmetry and superstrings, and particle physicist are still searching for all three. So most of the book is still relevant. Particle accelerators have gotten more powerful, but the principles are the same.

Very good summary of Eastern and Western philosophy.
The book is thirty years old and was written by a husband and wife team of professors at the University of Texas. It is a very clear and articulate summary of both Eastern and Western.philosophy in one reasonable sized volume. Their book compares well with both Will Durant's Story of Philosophy and Bertrand Russel's History of Western Philosophy.
My only complaints are
1) that like Bertrand Russell's book, their book leaves out Herbert Spencer altogether and only briefly mentions Charles Darwin and the theory of evolution, which in my opinion forever altered the course of philosophy and religion .
2) the authors are great admirers of the German idealists, such as Kant, Hegel, and Nietzsche, who, again in my opinion, are the philosophers whose absurd opinions (e.g., the external world is just an idea) give philosophy a really bad reputation among ordinary people.

great product
1 of 1 found this helpful This camera is really old technology (1990's???). But it has all the functions built in (auto exposure, manual exposure, auto/manual focus, movie, etc.). And it has real physical optical zoom: try optical zoom with a cell phone camera.
For someone like me who grew up with this technology, it feels like home. And the price is dirt cheap.
