RD8M DMSS receiver for JR
1 of 1 found this helpful This receiver has excellent range and has proven to be every bit as reliable as the genuine JR receivers I use with my JR XG14.
I have 100's of flights on R8DM receivers on everything from 2m sailplanes to 80" gas models and lots of foam planes to up to 1700mm . NOT ON SINGLE ISSUE ! EVER !

Binding instruction on back of the R8DM receiver package are screwed up.
1.Put the shorting plug on ch7 if using XG8/ 14/ 11Turn TX on.
2. don't use bind mode.Ensure XBus is off (it is by default)
3.Power-up receiver with binding button on back of the R8DM RECEIVER held down for 1-2 seconds.
Light next to bind button will glow bright green if bind is successful.
Remove bind plug loop from receiver .
RANGE CHECK. (Always range check any receiver before every flight .

Spektrum ix12. Excellent features poor build quality
1 of 1 found this helpful I waited for this radio and I love all of its features and ease of use . I was disappointed that it just doesn't feel like a radio should at this price point .
Good radio but not a great radio due to its cheap construction.

DX18 gen 2
0 of 3 found this helpful I took a huge step up to the DX18 after i had trouble with the DX6 & 8 with loss of signal , brown outs etc..yes i lost two models due to that .
The DX18 is not even from the same planet as the 6 & 8.
its expensive and worth it . one DX8 and one destroyed model Due to DX8 ...and you could have bought the 18 from day one !
loaded with more features than most of its owners will ever use this beauty is VERY well laid out and it does everything with no issues up to this point .
I really like the fact that my faith in Spektrum has returned too! Regaining said faith was not cheap , but neither is crashing planes due to lack of communication between transmitter and receiver ....as soon as i put the lesser Spektrum DX6 & 8 on the shelf , problem solved !
