Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Red - Fine Point - New PGB1000-21F
    Jul 05, 2019
No matter the cost, there is something Nicé (heh heh) about writing with a Platinum.
There are only a handful of pen companies that have pens at the most inexpensive to the obscene costs that have fountain pens that write nicely at all levels. There is no Italian brand that falls in this category. Take Stipula for example. Even their most expensive pen doesn't write that nice, but I recently bought a lower end Stipula for $40, well, I posted a video on YouTube of that p.o.s. going in the trash. Not so with Platinum. This Plaisir feels a little on the light side, but it is so nicely balanced while posted, which it does very well, that the lightness is a plus. The matching color of the barrel, the clip, and the nib is what sold me. My favorite school pen growing up was a Parker Vector fountain pen. I have had several of those, most of which were stolen or given away, and they were inexpensive, but had a little flair, wrote nice, and were indestructable in my hands. This Plaisir reminds me of those moments. I bought the con50 converter as well as I don't use ink cartridges. If you buy this with a converter from somewhere else, you won't get this nice price. This one did come with one ink cartridge. Now, Platinum has proprietary cartridges and converters. This may be a negative for some, especially those that are just getting into fountain pens. I don't have too many pens that use a standard international cartridge, and most of the pen manufacturers that use them don't make a really good pen anyway. The caboose here. This fine nib is not wet or dry. It is smooth. It does not leak. It does not dry out when not in use. I find an ink that exactly matches the pen body. Great little pen.

A little investment to protect a larger investment
I have limited space, no where to hang pots and pans, and I don't like metal to metal, enamel, ceramic, or other hard material touching each other. These are wide enough, thick enough, and the fact that I could get three different colors in the item order was nice. These are also inexpensive comparatively. So, if you have a decent amount pots and pans that you care for and don't want damaged and scratched up, these are a good investment to protect your pot and pan investment.
    Pentel Ain Pencil Leads 0.3mm 2B, 15 Leads X 5 Pack/total 75 Leads 4.56E+12

    Good quality leads.
For .5mm and larger, many times .7mm or larger, a cheaper quality is acceptable if the pencil is for schoolwork or some similar jobs. And while these .3mm leads are more expensive than some other .3mm and many larger diameter leads for the quantity, it is rather acceptable in the case. .3mm and smaller are not common sizes so more expensive to produce, and also with the smaller diameters, the quality control and production processes are more stringent. These leads were shipped very securely. They are sturdy for .3mm and write well. Getting the right amount of binder, type of binder, the right amount of graphite, the right size of graphite (probably through attrition), and the right cooking process are key. These are done right. Will purchase again.
