Wahler OE Theromstat
The price was so low (including free shipping) on this that one might assume it's a cheap, "aftermarket" thermostat, not to mention that Wahler is not a household name in the US. In fact, this is OE for my Volvo, a perfect replacement for the original,15-year-old thermostat, including the correct gasket. FYI, my 2001 V-70 did not require an additional gasket for the housing, I was "good to go" with this Wahler 'stat and gasket. I also replaced the temp sensor, and if yours is as old as mine was, or if your radiator fan runs at odd times, I recommend you do this, as well.

Spare Yourself Grief, Get the "Factory" O-Rings!
Swapping the heater core in a 2001 Volvo V-70 is hard enough with the perfectly fitting factory o-rings, even after lubricating them with fresh coolant or plumber's grease! Don't make the mistake of thinking aftermarket o-rings are "close enough"! Either they will leak or you will not be able to re-insert the supply and return tubes into their sockets in the heater core, as "tolerances" are hardly that and "access" is a one-word oxymoron! Believe me, you'll need all the help you can get, and you won't want to do it twice when it leaks! The originals lasted me over 15 years, and the OE rings went "right in" and held fast, and I'm looking forward to never doing this job again!

Proraso Shaving Cream
Proraso Shaving Cream is a very economical way to get a nice, close shave. I pre-wet my face with hot water, then I use a wetted, horsehair shaving brush to pick up a glob the size of a baby pea that I've put in my shaving bowl. I keep the dab of cream on the tips of the brush, and I go over and over my beard area repeatedly, periodically adding a drop of water to my brush, working with the Proraso until it looks white and soapy. Then I use a clean double edged safety razor to shave, rinsing the blade of soap and hair regularly as I go. The Proraso quickly sets up and softens my beard for a great shave every time, then it rinses off my face and brush with little effort. No sense to pay more for shave cream, IMO, and no sense to use more product; doing that just clogs the razor. I happen to like the light scent of mainly eucalyptus with a trace of menthol, and I find it very refreshing, as well.
