Wolfe neets Goodwin
About time somebody gave us this origin story. Who better than Bob Goldsborough. His past stories on Wolfe have shown him quite capable of carrying on the unique adventures of a character who personifies the term " armchair detective ". Well done, sir. Well done!

Hawkaaaa!
Sorry, couldn't resist the title. True Blackhawk fans will know why. Having just missed this at the theaters when I was a kid, it would be decades later before I would even learn of it's existence. Finally, having seen one of the last serials of a buygone era, the comic book fan in me was a happy camper.
The acting was simplistic, without being campy. This wasn't the Batman tv series after all. The serials were for the most part straight translations from there original source material. In this case, a comic book. Being a translation, Hollywood is of course free to take liberties with their purchased product. In some cases, more than others. This serial holds up well, overall. It's nothing more (or less), than what it claims to be. A fun time at the movies with a comic book favorite.
For all those who remember Blackhawk, I recommend it.

Give 'em Hell, Cap!
Vintage Cap, even without Simon & Kirby at the helm. With back up features like Sub-Mariner and the Human Torch, it was a great bye anyway you look at it! A true product of it's time, representing a nation at war, on two fronts. Timely got it right with comics most patriotic hero!
