    Birds Choice NP1009 Oriole-Fest Oriole Feeder-12 oz.
    Jul 10, 2020
    Excellent!
This is my second one. I got my first about 10 years ago and am pleased that this replacement is the same great quality. I love this! The feeder has a place for sugar water in the lower clear reservoir, grape jelly in the 4 spaces on top, and an orange half in the middle. With this feeder, we support many families of Baltimore Orioles, Rose Breasted Grosbeaks, Catbirds, Purple Finches, and House Finches. They love grape jelly and can go through a jar of jelly in 2 or 3 days when they first return late spring and when their young hatch. They slow down other times. The sugar water attract Downy Woodpeckers in addition to the Orioles. Hummingbirds are interested, but with the high traffic of bigger birds, we hang a separate feeder dedicated to hummingbirds. We don’t use oranges. The birds never took an interest in it, but we will fill the very center with water to be an ant guard. We also hang a separate ant guard above it to hold water the ants won’t cross above it. Through no fault of the feeder, chipmunks, squirrels, and raccoons are attracted to the jelly and sugar water. We take the feeder in at dusk and put it out in the morning. That eliminates the raccoons, who have torn it down in the past, damaging the perches. The perches are the weakest part of the feeder. Squirrels generally don’t like it being on our deck close to the house, but they will try once in a while to tip it so the sugar water dribbles out to drink. The chipmunks will climb right up on the feeder, but are easily chased away. By late summer, (end of August), bees of all different varieties start to come to the feeder and clean in out quickly. We stop putting sugar water in at this time, but the bees still like the jelly. This is a problem. The Orioles and Catbirds will still come and chase them away to feed, but the smaller birds won’t, so it’s best to take it down until next year. From spring through most of the summer it is wonderful to watch the traffic that this feeder attracts. It is well worth the price. If any of the above traffic disturbs you, then it may not be for you. On a general note, jelly holds together better than jam in hot weather. This feeder has a larger sections to hold the jelly than other knock offs I’ve seen. I love this feeder and highly recommend it!
Noter for Mountain Dulcimer Sheesham Handcrafted Quality Musical Instruments

    Good for the right dulcimer
I love the design. Feels very nice to hold and use. It looks great and has a good finish. It is definitely a step up from the unfinished dowels many use as noters. It is a good attempt at an ergonomic design. If you’re only looking for single or double notes only, it works great. But if you want to use use it for the occasional barre chord, the length of this noter may be an issue. It works well on a Roosebeck, which has a smaller width neck. It’s too short to work with barre chords on a custom 5-string dulcimer I have. Can’t really fault Roosebeck for making something tailored to their own instruments. The description listed 4 inches which is the total length from end to end. The functional part of it is really only 1-9/16 inches, before three ridges separate the working end from the handle. It fits well in my medium-sized hand, hitting the center of my palm comfortably. I believe a smaller hand would feel comfortable using it, too. A large hand might find the total length too short. In my opinion, it’s worth giving it a chance.
HandyBar Car Handle Safety Support Seatbelt Cutter Window Breaker Bar Mobility

    Not for everyone
The HandyBar is constructed well enough and does take the weight of my husband (180 lbs). I can’t fault construction for why we don’t use it. The problem that we have that makes this very awkward is that it gets in the way of the person getting out of the car. Perhaps a van or SUV might work, but my full-sized car (a Grand Marquis) with the seat all the way back, does not make the HandyBar easy to use. Maybe it would work for a thin small-framed individual. This is definitely not for everyone.
