Unnoticeable improvement compared to the 16-50mm.
Bought this lens to replace my older inferior 16-50mm and I haven't really noticed any significant sharpness or overall image quality improvement. Yes this lens is much better built and can shoot at F2.8 but in my opinion it wasn't really worth the upgrade over the much cheaper 16-50mm.

Very good telephoto but it's not Amazing.
This review is a direct comparison between my experience with the Nikon 70-200 and the Tamron. Out of the box, the Tamron needed AF Tuning of +16 on my Nikon D750. After a couple of sessions I came to a conclusion that this lens just does not have the same sharpness wide open at 200mm. That "crisp" look is only achieved with considerable about of sharpness from post production. I guess this is the $1000 difference in price. I bought this lens to shoot weddings at wide open apertures and it delivers decent results but it's not amazing as some reviews claim online. Overall, I am quite satisfied because the bokeh is still amazing and it is a fast lens. Nothing compares at this price range.
