Rodents don't seem to be bothered by the smell
Smells nice to humans. Our supplies of dog and bird food in the garage were discovered by either mice or rats. First, newly purchased plastic bags got chew holes in them, then even the heavy duty plastic bins were attacked. Finally, when I noticed that my large thick plastic container for the dog food was the latest target, I placed a fresh bag of Fresh Cab right by the small hole in the door that appeared overnight. The next morning that hole was much larger, telling me that some critter was busy through the night. So, I covered the hole with the bag of Fresh Cab, and the next morning it was moved aside, was still attached to the door, while it was obvious that whichever determined rodent was in my garage was not bothered by the nice smelling pouch.
