Crouching doorbell, hidden Ding Dong
The sound is a little odd - sounding like a big tubular chimes through a tiny speaker (because that's what it is) but it worked perfectly out of the box. I screw mounted my button on the plate where the old wired button was, so I can't speak to the "sticky pad" mounting (although mine was a strip of genuine 3M double sided sticky foam and that's good stuff).
BIG advantage is that the "receiver" is battery powered, so you can tuck it out of the way. I put mine on top of a bookshelf. As a result I don't have a big box hanging out of one of my precious few wall outlets. It also uses BIG batteries (C cells IIRC) so they will last a long time.
One CON - if you push the button off center it can get stuck, leaving you with a repeating chime sounding until you wiggle it to get it unstuck.

Perfect fit
If only it could make windows faster....
I bought this to replace a broken power input on a Sony vaio laptop, PCG-something or other.
I had taken the wee beastie apart before and know how to solder so installation was a snap. It fit perfectly in the case and the adapter also has that slight detent to insert and remove the plug which helps avoid the plug slipping out. An important detail that they could have skipped.

Great item, if you know how to convert it to a standard connection
This (6 pin din) is a btc5100c with a small daughter card inside. The card has a pic chip on it. You have to unsolder that card abd change the plug to connect to a normal pc.
