Onkyo TX-SV90PRO AV Receiver -1991- Wood Sides - TESTED - Remote - Bundle

Very powerful and great-sounding receiver, if you can find one in great condition go for it.

The Onkyo TX-SV90Pro stopped being made over 30 years ago, so finding one in really great condition isn't easy, but if you can, don't let it get away. These are monstrous, heavy beasts with amazing sound and power. Onkyo made some fantastic and very well-made receivers in the 80's into the very early 90's. This one was kind of a transitional receiver (from stereo to rudimentary surround sound), but I'm using it for traditional two channel stereo. To give you an idea of the power this has (110 watts per channel into 8ohms, and this is genuine, old-school power), at any reasonable listening level my Polk and JBL floorstanders are driven quite easily when the volume knob is not even 1/6th of the way up. 30+ year old amps and receivers can be money pits, so make sure you're buying one from a reputable seller and examine all the seller's info and the pictures very carefully. Keep in mind, this isn't a 7.1 surround sound system receiver, it's state of the art from 1991. But what it does do, it does superbly. The quality Onkyo put into their top-line receivers is obvious, and they sound simply wonderful.

Beautiful Blu-Ray edition

Seeing this unique movie on blu-ray is a wonderful experience, the performances are excellent, especially Leo McKern and the two younger kids. It's still controversial but it shouldn't be, it is a superbly well shot, entrancing movie that does not seek to denigrate, but rather celebrate the human body. Highly recommended.
