Best upgrade option for 1st gen i7. Cheap, fast, runs cooler, more cores & threads!
2 of 2 found this helpful Great chip, easily performed at stock speeds better than my i7 920 Overclocked to 3.6ghz.
Honestly so glad I made this upgrade, it overclocked to 4.2ghz easily and could push to 4.6 but that's not necessary. It runs great at 4.2 on 212 Evo cooler 30C idle and 70C stress test.
It runs cooler & faster with the extra 2 cores and 4 threads allowing me to have a lot of applications running at the same time while playing a game.
Highly recommend this chip, insane value for the money if you already have the x58 motherboard using a non xeon chip.
