Made a perfect loaf of bread but...

The little book that came with the Dutch oven said not to heat the pot while empty. It failed to mention that anywhere in the online add.I bought this pot specifically for baking bread and it requires that the bread be baked in a preheated pot. I'm not sure how long the finish will hold up.
