Simple to use, with advanced options if desired
Netgear makes decent stuff for a small office or a networked home. This switch does not need a fan, and is totally silent. As with all used equipment, I recommend pushing the "reset" button first. After that, just plug your network cables in and everything gets connected.
The switch operates at gigabit speeds, and automatically accommodates slower devices. There are advanced features ready if needed.
There are two versions of this device. The latest version, V2, is identified on the sticker as "GS116E V2". Access to the advanced settings are as simple as connecting to any port and using a web browser. The latest firmware allows identifying each port with a text label, such as "green cable", or "printer". The previous version, without the V2 mark, lacks these features. Access to the advanced settings for the earlier version requires software which is installed on a computer connected to the switch.
Netgear's web site provides manuals, software, firmware and quick start guides. Upgrading the firmware is painless. This appears to be a well designed product which will work right out of the box, or can be easily configured with several advanced features.

Powerful yet easy to use
2 of 2 found this helpful The Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV slide scanner is quite a bargain. The software is easy to use and still allows a wide array of adjustments if desired. Color is terrific and 3200 dpi resolution is more than adequate. A full resolution scan takes about 20 seconds. There are two film carriers for 35mm film, one which holds up to four mounted slides, and the other which holds a strip of film. These carriers are rare, so make sure they are included. Dual refers to the APS mode which requires a special film roll unit. The USB connection will fit most modern computers. Although the software has not had recent updates, it will work with Windows 7 64 bit. Hints for configuration are on several websites. Software and manuals are available on Minolta's website. The scanner is mostly plastic and may lack the hefty feel of other brands, but it is sturdy enough to work all day.

35mm WORKHORSE!
3 of 4 found this helpful After nearly 40 years, this camera and its system of components is still bulletproof. Solid winding, faultless shutter and accurate metering make this camera a contender for the hall of fame. The lenses of this vintage are heavy because of all the metal and glass, and razor sharp. I have taken pictures where you can count eyelashes. As long as there are cameras of this quality still left, film is still alive.
