Rocketman Beats The Dirt and Bohemian Rhapsody
1 of 1 found this helpful I grew up a Crue Fan! Saw them 5 times, was pulled out of the Arena in Tampa and went to the After party. The were crazy and fun but respected that I wasn't a groupie!!
The only season of Idol I watched was when Adam Lambert was on. He just had It. He was a star and I knew it! Then Adam met Queen and I've seen them twice in the last 11 months. I read everything about Freddie, watched all the videos to crash course Freddie. But the 2 Queen shows with Adam are probably the best shows I have ever seen, and I have seen over 500!
I kind of grew up with Elton music in the background. I lovedvhis music but usually had something elsevin the CD player.
All summer, one by one the movies premiered. The Dirt. I had read the book twice so nothing new there. Machine Gun Kelly was miscast. Would have been better and looked more like Nikki. Mick Mars had no mystique and didn't look older or much thinner than the other guys. The kid that played Vince was a bad choice because 1) really bad hair! Vince always had his longer and scissor cut. It was also not platinum but several shades of blonde and the actor acted and sang like a little boy. He was too small and just didn't have the sexiness of Vince in person. He also was dressed like a kid, not silk shirts and rock jewelry!
Of the three movies, The Dirt is 3rd because of a variety of too easily fixed mistakes.
2nd is Bohemian Rhapsody because they plaued it safe and hopefully there as a BH2 to cover life after Live Aid for all the stuff they left out.
And the 1 Place goes to - ROCKETMAN
I was prepared to not like it, but it was brilliantly done! If you watch it with the caps on, you REALLY appreciate the movie because the lyrics are brilliantly woven into the script. (I do not believe I have ever used the word brilliant in my life, much less two times in one paragraph!
The way the songs are explained in some of the scenes and the way he explains his childhood and how he accepts who he is is just stunning.
Oh, kudos to Jamie Bell! As Bernie he's amazing and just watching him in the long hair...whew...
I've seen too many biopics to count, but move over #1, there's a new Rocketman in town!
