Would not recommend for free standing use
Very nice unit described as suitable for built in or free standing. While it technically could be used as a free standing unit, the top has 2 big holes in it and a bracket for attaching to the underside of a counter top. Removing the bracket exposes the top hinge and 4 more large holes. I am in the process of making a butcher block top for the unit. It needs something to conceal the top.
Otherwise, it appears to be a very nice unit that makes very nice cubes and is MUCH quieter than my previous two ice makers.
