Using the Price Guide

Before buying or listing a trading card, use the Price Guide beta to learn more about its value.

Use the Price Guide to review the eBay market value, historic price trends, recent transactions and stats like the total number of sellers and sales.

You can find the Price Guide in the latest version of the eBay app on iOS and Android, as well as on your desktop browser. Here’s how to use the Price Guide:

  1. Update your eBay app to the latest version.
  2. Type the name of your trading card into the search bar in the app, or in the search bar in your computer browser.
  3. Tap the banner above the search results to open the Price Guide.

After opening the Price Guide, you can type in different search queries in the Trading Cards category. You can also refine your search results using several filter options to exclude irrelevant or inaccurately described listings. Once you’ve found what you're looking for, you can select View active listings or Sell one like this.

Tip
The price we recommend for your card is based on previous sales of the card on eBay. We don't take into account irrelevant or inaccurately described listings and we exclude unpaid items.

Troubleshooting the Price Guide

Here are some things to keep in mind if you experience any problems using the Price Guide:

  • The Price Guide currently only covers trading cards, so if you search for another category you’ll see Unsupported Category as a result
  • If your search query isn’t returning any results, you may need to broaden your search terms or we may not yet have price guidance on that particular trading card
  • The graph may display Insufficient Data if the date range selected is too small for the particular trading card. Try expanding your date range

Use the Price Guide beta to find out the value of a trading card before buying or listing.
